What is the Wheel of Consent?

“The Wheel of Consent® is a practice and a model based on the distinction between the “doing” aspect of the touch dynamic — who is doing — and the “gift” aspect — who it is for. Once that distinction is made, the entire touch dynamic becomes clear, which brings ease, confidence, self-responsibility, and freedom to the interaction.

It applies to both touch and non-touch dynamics. Indeed, the application to non-touch dynamics may be of greater import.” http://www.wheelofconsent.com

The Wheel of Consent was founded by Betty Martin a retired chiropractor and sexuality coach. In 2020 I joined Betty for her 5 day Like a Pro course when she came to Perth and realised there was so much more to the Art of Giving and Receiving. As a former cult member I sat in that training and felt the relief of being in a space in which not only were my Yeses and No’s both celebrated but I was encouraged to take the time and space to notice what I felt before I entered into any agreements or exchanges. I’d never experienced that kind of workshop or facilitation before but it spoke to my heart on every level.

From that point on these practices have shaped every part of my life both professionally and personally. After years of chaotic and traumatic relating in my intimate relationships the Wheel provided me with the courage to create clear, transparent loving agreements and boundaries and healthier more transparent experiences. As a funny side note, my partner and I began talking about the Wheel of Consent on our first date and it has beautifully become the foundation that our loving relationship grew from. A year on we still talk about how experiences fit within the wheel and enjoy playing the 3 minute game and are gently introducing his 11 year old daughter to consent and sovereignty too.

If you’d like to explore more of what you want and need, and how the Wheel might support you in navigating your relationships book in for a 1:1 session with me. There is NO nudity or sexual touch of any kind in the practices offered during these sessions but we will start to uncover the black holes that gifts you’ve been giving or aching to receive may have disappeared into. And you’ll receive practices to take home with you to share with a partner or friend.

Who is your Facilitator?

Lani Noble. I am a Mental Health, Mindfulness and Somatic Movement practitioner currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health at Nan Tien Institute. I’ve completed over 800 hours of Yoga and Meditation training and I’ve spent the past 14 years studying and teaching Women’s embodiment practices, Yoga for Trauma, the Wheel of Consent, Tools for the Highly Sensitive Person, Mental Health and the Mind-Body connection, Psoas release, Sacred Sexuality and Tantra. Drawing from all of these tools my intention is to support you in embracing all of who you are and to shift old energy, beliefs and holding patterns in your body so you can live and breathe your best self.
