“We are all longing to go home to some place we have never been – a place half-remembered and half-envisioned we can only catch glimpses of from time to time. Community. Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats. Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our own power. Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of healing. A circle of friends. Someplace where we can be free.” ~Starhawk
Community…what does this word mean to you?
For me it’s about being with like minded people, loving and supporting each other in truth as we help others to do the same. There’s a real resting that comes in knowing we’re all moving in the same direction. But it’s also about feeling a circle of trust where I know while I’m held in tenderness I’ll also be held accountable for my own actions. A circle that recognises the importance of embodying completely light and dark. To know I’m with people who can discern between the times when it’s important I slow down and listen to my own heart and other times when I need the guidance and wisdom of those who see things in me I can’t see in myself.
One of the main inspirations for this website was to create a space where community is grown, and a place to share the stories of the inspiring human beings who have touched my life through their dedication to communities. It felt like the stories of those pouring their heart and soul into others deserved to be heard and could help to inspire others to have the courage to speak and act from the heart as we learn to walk this path alone, together. Our ability and willingness to share our stories gives this life purpose.
This is also now a space where I can share with you the joy of resting together with ceremonial cacao, yoga and meditation classes and events. Events where we gather together in gratitude, love and community to help each other remember how beautiful life is when shared.
If you have a story you’d love to be heard or a project to collaborate on…get in touch with me Here I’d love to hear from you.
