Feel your Body
Connected to the Earth
Grounded, calm, clear, nurtured, inspired and at ease in your body, emotions and inner soul led wisdom.
“Lani has this beautiful presence that acts as a gentle permission slip to really slow down and connect in with what ever feels alive in your body and on your heart. When I step onto the land I am often met with emotions or feelings that I didn’t even know were there, bubbling under the surface – Often drowned out by the chaos and busyness of my everyday life. The combination of the stunning natural surroundings, Lani’s teachings and wisdom, and sipping on mamma cacao, feel like a beautiful, nourishing massage for my nervous system.“
“Every time I attend an event at Heart of Rest it’s like another piece of my true self is revealed. It’s a place where I can find enough stillness and quiet to experience the subtle parts of who I am. Here I feel safe to soften into my feminine, and through that I have learned so much about my desires, and the power of my own inner knowing and intuition. Thank you for sharing your magic Lani. You have such a unique gift and it is received with so much appreciation.” ~ Sarah
“Lani is a truly magnificently skilled space holder, knowledgeable and experienced yoga teacher and she is the embodiment of divine feminine energy. She creates nurturing, safe, gentle experiences to connect with your heart, body and soul. I’ve left her Red Tents and Deep Rest sessions feeling deeply relaxed in my body, uplifted in my heart, connected to my womb (and the other beautiful heart-centred women!) and nourished in my soul! I can not recommend her enough!” ~ Kylie

The Art of Giving & Receiving, “The Wheel of Consent® is a profound model of relating which brings greater clarity and authenticity to our relationships in all areas of life. Its principles can be learned through a simple, clothed touch practice. The Wheel really gets to the heart of consent by helping us slow down and notice what we actually want and where our boundaries are, and also provides a language for communicating these clearly with others.”
What is Sensory Processing Sensitivity?
Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS), also known as highly sensitive person (HSP), is a trait present in 20-30 percent of the human population and over 100 animal species.
It’s a temperament leading individuals to notice more subtle variations in both internal and external stimuli. And it’s four key aspects are often described as D.O.E.S:
D. greater depth of processing of stimuli,
O. easily overstimulated,
E. increased emotional response, both negative and positive and
S. greater sensitivity to stimuli (Aron and Aron 1997)
Individuals with this trait react more strongly to both positive and negative stimuli, that can increase stress and vulnerability to stress-related problems. However, it isn’t a mistake, a problem, or something that needs to be “fixed” but instead a gift waiting to be harnessed. When understood high sensitivity can relate to positive outcomes in wellbeing and have a special role in our world to play:
“HSPs tend to fill that advisor role. We are the writers, historians, philosophers, judges, artists, researchers, theologians, therapists, teachers, parents, and plain conscientious citizens. What we bring to any of these roles is a tendency to think about all the possible effects of an idea. Often we have to make ourselves unpopular by stopping the majority from rushing ahead. Thus, to perform our role well, we have to feel very good about ourselves. We have to ignore all the messages from the warriors that we are not as good as they are. The warriors have their bold style, which has its value. But we, too, have our style and our own important contribution to make.”
― Elaine N. Aron, The Highly Sensitive Person
If you’ve always felt like you were deeply touched by life but didn’t understand why (or maybe you’ve been told you’re too sensitive or not to feel so much but wondered how that would even be possible?!) you might like to access this quiz created by HSP founder Dr Elaine Aron.
Why work with me?
I believe your sensitivity and service driven business or offering is a gift to this sometimes overly pragmatic world. And I know that nurturers need nurturing too. We can not give from an empty cup!
But in the busyness of modern living it’s easy to lose sight of the power in the subtle parts of being human (like feeling, creating, relating, beauty and Being). We live in a time where rates of depression and anxiety are at an all time high (especially in our adolescents) and the pressure to keep doing and being more continues to drive our nervous systems into overwhelm.
I’m a trained yoga and meditation facilitator with qualifications in Mental Health, Gene Keys and Polyvagal theory for yoga. With more than a decade of experience working with others I have two main streams of services I offer:
1) gentle slow spaces to help you reconnect to your body and to digest life so you can feel grounded and vital again, and
2) intentional quiet spaces with a combination of embodiment, esoteric and positive psychology practices and training to support you as you transcend the shadows of your past and connect to the wisdom of your heart and soul.
For those who enjoy exploring maps and systems – I’m a highly sensitive person, an ambivert, a 4/6 Projector in Human Design, and an INFP in Myers Briggs profiling and my highest character strengths in the VIA are Beauty and Appreciation for Excellence, Creativity and Spirituality. Exploring these labels and systems have helped me to know the deeper layers of myself intimately and to embrace the deep connection I have to the subtle and esoteric.
And for those who prefer the papers, I hold a 500-hour RYT Certificate as a Hridaya Hatha Yoga and Meditation instructor, a 200-hour RYT Certificate as a Yin Yoga instructor and a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health. I’ve also spent the past 12 years studying the Mind-Body connection and business (see below for details).
My passion is in supporting heart led entrepreneurs, highly sensitive humans, empaths and nurturers to restore trust in Loves Wisdom and the unique ways they came here to serve humanity.
Inspired by the power of Rest, Self Compassion, the Spiritual Heart and Ceremonial Cacao for mental health and wellness I specialise in compassionate, yin based, mind-body-heart practices to regulate the nervous system, help you feel more at home in your Self and to live the heart and soul led life that you’re aching to live. Together we create tools that support you when you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, burnt out and we shift awareness towards the gifts and strengths you carry and how to express these in your work, home, community or business.

Frequently Asked
Do I need to have any yoga experience to attend these sessions? No, each session is structured to meet you where you are so no experience is needed. The only real requirement for Deep Rest sessions is that you be able to get up and down off the ground with ease.
I’m currently working with a counsellor or psychologist to heal from trauma, are these sessions suitable for me? Check in with your therapist if you’re not sure but these sessions tend to be a beautiful compliment to cognitive therapies as we combine somatic (body based) practices and mindfulness. Yoga and mindfulness can be a very powerful tool for processing anxiety and moving through periods of depression and grief. These sessions are not a replacement for counselling or psychotherapy and no medical advice will be provided. Additional recommendations to heart centred counsellors, psychotherapists and health professionals can be provided to support your journey if needed.
What should I wear? Wear clothes that you’re comfortable sitting, stretching and laying down in. Layers can be a good idea in case it gets too warm or cold.
I’m pregnant, are these sessions ok for pregnant women? All of our practices can be customised for you no matter what stage of your pregnancy. I encourage ‘mama’s to be’ to really listen in to their body. We drink a gentle dose of cacao which is generally OK all the way through pregnancy but each woman is different so you’ll need to gauge as you go. You can read more about motherhood and Cacao at Keith’s Cacao, and please let Lani know how far along you are so she can provide suggestions to alter the practices where needed.
I’m new to cacao and these sorts of things, do I need any experience to attend? No you’ll be introduced to cacao and guided throughout the session so all levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to advanced practitioners, we all meet in the heart.
I’m currently taking anti anxiety or antidepressant medication, is it still OK for me to drink ceremonial cacao? The serving we work with is between 10-15 grams which is usually OK for everyone. However if you’re on higher doses of medications please let Lani know so she can alter your serving as some medications can react with cacao. Read More
I’ve never attended a session with you before, how will I know if this is the right fit for me? You can book in for a complimentary 15 minute call with me to say hi and we can chat about what you’re in need of right now and the way I work so you can get clearer on if we’re a good fit.
What if I can no longer attend? For cancellations received within 48 hours of your session a full refund is available (minus any payment processing fees). If this session is unable to run in person due to government restrictions it will be offered online or rescheduled. If you’re unable to attend the rescheduled date a credit note to be used within 3 months will be offered. Please email lani@heartofrest.com.au for refunds or credits
